I am missing the ribbon cable and Serial port for my A4000. Apparenetly
this Rev D model has a ribbon cable with the DB-25 connector on the end that
plugs into the rear case opening for the serial port. Other A4000 models
have the port built onto the motherboard and it cannot be removed. I got
this MB used and it was missing this vital piece. I imagine it would just
need a direct 25 pin ribbon cable to the DB25 connector but I am not sure.
Actually if I could hack it to a DB9 Serial port somehow that would be cool
too! (Like modern PCs use)

If anyone can assist me I would really appreciate it!

Unless I miss my guess, there's a 10-pin connector on the left side of the motherboard for just such a cable. You can get a header from an old AT or Baby AT motherboard and use the DB-9 or DB-25 ribbon cable to hook it up there.

You mean the side of the MB where the joystick and mouse ports are on? Well
the header for the actualy serial is on the right side. Is there another
header on the MB for serial? I do have a old PC backpane that has a DB25
and DB9 port on it, it has 10 pins. It would sure be nice if I can use
that!! I will have to look at the MB and see if there is 10pins on the left
side.

That's correct. About midway on the left side, labeled J975, and it's actually a 12-pin connector.

This Is NOT a serial connector (AFAIK) but some jumpers that should be
left alone....
