Also checked for more details on the Amiga Model 10 otherwise Known as the
Amiga Laptop... Price will be $2199.00 and you will have to supply the chips
from an Amiga 500 to make it operational or purchase the chips... Sounds like
they wound up on the loosing end of their meeting with Commodore... Could this
mean that Commodore may be trying to come out with one of their own if we read
between the lines....

It might be a case of C= protecting the Amiga's name. C= may not have
been satisfied that whoever is putting this laptop together can do a
qaulity job, or supply an appropriate level of support for people who buy it.
Then again, it may also be a matter of C= not wanting anyone to muddy the water
before they have a chance to release a laptop. Your guess is as good as mine.

Not even just a laptop, if C= starts supplying chips to this shop to make
an Amiga laptop they have just allowed the first non-C= Amiga computer. Seems
to me that that sets a precedent that would allow Amiga clone mfgs. That
might be good to us (lower prices, et al.) but could very well kill C= since
if hardware sales dropped off all they would have left would be the OS to sell.
As was said before, your guess is as good as mine.
Anyway, even with the inconvience of having to get other parts to complete
it, the idea of an available laptop is neat.

Nope. It already exists. The Phoenix replacement motherboard for the A1000
is exactly what you are describing. Phoenix designed the board and you have
to plug some chips from your original A1000 into it.
I know some of the guys at Phoenix, and as far as I know, C= authorized this
under the conditions that Phoenix *never* produce a case for it, and always
require it to be fitted to an existing A1000 case. This way, they cannot
produce a straight clone.
I know it's true because I have one.

Phil.
