68040@25Mhz vs 68030@50mhz+fpu

I currently have a Blizzard 68030@50Mhz +50Mhz FPU
Would the 68040@25Mhz be quiccker than my 6803 for the non-PPC processing?
If soone ofthese models would do and they're 200UKP cheaper.
If I buy a PC board I want to see a speed increase in the non-PPC
processing so it gives a double bonus.
Any figures anyone?

Similar question was asked elsewhere recently, and those in the know
reckoned the 040 25 would be about double the speed of the 030 50.
Though I think some software would have less of a difference.

Whichever you can afford. ***BUT*** As a PPC owner myself, I would not
advise that you get one, not yet anyway. The software *sucks*, and there
is still a huge, huge lack of decent software, dev tools, etc. Don't
believe the hype - when it works, it's great, but for a /lot/ of people
it isn't working.... Wait for a month or two and see what happens - it'd
be terrible to buy a PPC card and find out that some faster & cheaper
version appears, or something ;)

Yes. Roughly twice as fast I'd say, but YMMV. It is quicker, but not
dramatically so.

that they are nearly the same speed. But the A3640 suffers
from slow memory access. An 040-25Mhz with memory on the

A 68040 is roughly the quad speed of an 68030 with the same
clockfrequency, BUT, the CSPPC's memoryspeed SUCKS.. the Blizzard1230
beats the shit out of it in raw memory transferspeed..
