I haven't tried the card but about the software:
Prelude has AHI driver for it so any AHI using software
(practically every new Audio software) will work with it.
Besides if you want to handle samples theres going to be
Samplitude v3 for Prelude AND other cards! A.C.T.
(i.e. manufacturer of Prelude) hsa taken over developing and
distributing Samplitude software and they are expected to show
something soon. More info at Amiga Audio Cards site (look below)

Yeah, it's a good sound card !
It does what at least I expected a sound card to do. It has 16 Bit 48kHz
Output and Input (Fullduplex), and an integrated mixer for Amiga, CD-Rom,
Line/Micro, controlled by a commodity. What I found to be very useful with
this mixer is that for the "native" amiga sound, you can boost the output
(very good for 14bit output) and you can go stereo or mono.
Prelude comes with AHI drivers, AHI-Record, and "tapedeck" (nice gui) and some
other tools. Samplitude Prelude is available too, a professionel and very
powerful high quality sample tool, works fine with Prelude (and Maestro).
But note that you should have much CPU/Ram/HD-power (16bit/48kHz samples are a
"bit" larger than 8bit/22kHz ones...)
Sound quality is good, too. The hardware looks allright and works like this. I
could not find any bugs or problems with the card, incompatibility neither.
The support from A.C.T. is really great, I have to emphasize this as I have
been nerving them with my stupid problems and they helped me to solve them
all.
The only thing I mind is the OctaMED SS doesn't support the card (yet) - I
wrote to Teijo, and I hope that the future versions (by Joern) will support
the card ?
AFAIK there are only two sound cards at the moment: Prelude and Delfina lite.
Prelude has no DSP, but it's cheaper :)
BTW: What's about Melody ?? Is it a "real" audio card or MPEG only ??

STOP ! Please note I was wrong:

With a special toccata.library, OctaMED _DOES_ support the Prelude (I got that
lib just today :-D , it's available from ACTs hp (www.act-net.com))

Yes, it will.

both - audio + MPEG. :-)

Prelude offers an API compatible tocatta.library same for Melody.
There is no problem running prelude with current (months old) OctaMED.

There is soundstage and the board for PicassoIV even boards like AURA.
> BTW: What's about Melody ?? Is it a "real" audio card or MPEG only ??
It`s done for different solutions than Prelude. It`s not the key
feature but it supports 16 bits audio, too. Depending on your needs it`s
great for one solution and weak for another. But it`s extendable and will
we extended even if shipping of the extensions is delayed.
As written before the Prototype of the Melody for A1200 will be demonstrated
by A.C.T. (Makers of Prelude). While others are competing themselfes we decided
to do projects together a few month ago. This board is the first public try.
Future projects depend on your support because of the money required for
development...
As you may know we`re developers only, not interested in doing distribution
etc. For sure the Z2-Melody will be continued and extended with technologie
used at the board for A1200.
We decided to do the board for A1200 first to increase the base of soundboards
for Amiga Computers. Because of our limited financial power we can`t do
both at the same time.

No response via Email? Please wait for a few days, I`m busy with
our new soundboard (A1200) A.C.T will demonstrate in Cologne...
