Lion King on a a4000.

hi

I have an a4000 with 14 megs of ram. And i just got lion king for my 3 year old son.
But it will not run on this computer. :( The box says it runs on a 1200 can i degrade
my computer and will that help?

You can, and the chances are reasonable that yes, it will.
The first advice is as always to get TUDE from Aminet,
and run it with 'Tude Degrade'. If that doesn't get a
game working, it's not likely that anything much will,
although just sometimes, something program-specific
like KillAGA or RunShit will also be neccessary.

Note that running TUDE will usually nuke your WB screen,
unless it's only 32 colour, so make sure you're in a
position to start the game blind.

Try the early startup menu and disable CACHES (Hold both mouse buttons

after doing a reboot)

Lion King is an AGA game. It needs dtack and to run on 040 you have to use
setpatch without 68040.library. There is an installer in aminet, too.

Also, get the patch off of Aminet that allows this game to be installed to HD.
It makes it playing it much better considering you will crash quite often :(.
I have had it working for short periods of time but not long enough to finish
the first level. Get Aladdin... I believe it uses the same engine but it
never crashes. It also had a HD install patch on aminet.
