I'd like to buy 'Jurrasic Park' game, but I dunno if its speed
is playable on normal ECS/OCS Amigas.
Too slow or not?
Thanks for reply.

Don't buy. I had the AGA version and it sucked real bad!

I don't think JP's available for standard Amigas yet -- only AGA. It's
a good game -- especially when you consider it's an Ocean movie license.

A500 version is dog slow - even PC version is faster and has better
scrolling...

I have to take exception with this statement. I bought Jurassic Park
at the Toronto World of Commodore and was very dissapointed with the
game. My first complaint is that it requires both 50Hz options to be
set in Degrader in order to get it to work (it won't accept the PAL
option from the boot-option screen on the 1200). My second complaint
is the speed, or extreme lack of it, especially considering I have
a 40Mhz '030 in my 1200. I found that the screen scrolling was slow
and often jerky. The action often went down to a crawl when more
than a couple of moving objects came on the screen. I don't know what
Oceans excuse for this could be when we have such fast moving, multi-coloured
games such as Alien Breed II. But my biggest complaint is the amount of
friggin disk-swapping required to play the game. The game comes on 4
disks and it seems that everytime you go to a new level or access the
in-game computer you need to swap a disk. Desperatly needs a hard-drive
loader!

And finally, this is a play-once game. I have finished it and feel no
need to ever load it up again. Once the puzzles are figured out and
the mazes are solved that's it. I was hoping for a LOT better. Heck,
I would have been satisfied with a more arcade style game such as
on the Sega system.
