I'm sure there is a list somewhere of the CDTV titles currently available, but
I've searched and found nothing. Ads don't help as they are often incomplete
or state "We carry all CDTV titles"...and since I don't know them, I can hardly
choose.
If someone could direct me to a current magazine that may list these titles,
or perhaps if someone could list these titles on the Net, or e-mail me, it
would be greatly appreciated.

If anyone has heard of any good CDTV versions of current Amiga games or
stand alone CDTV game titles (are there any?) let me know.
Also, if you could note any major differences between CDTV game versions and
regular amiga versions it would be greatly appreciated (music/graphics/extras).

I ordered a CDTV last Sunday and just found out Commodore no longer offers
any software with this machine as of July. (They used to offer Lemmings and
an Encyclopedia, I guess?). I also called today to find out the shipment is
on hold due to the company being out of stock of the Keyboard/Mouse/Drive
packages.

I am also interested in any amiga applications for this machine as well
(thesaurus', dictionary, atlas', etc.) Anything. Thanks. E-mail please.

Does anybody know of a place to order these discs from? (England or Germany
preferably) The availability of CDTV-titles here in Norway isn't exactly
overwhelming...

Well, Commodore UK is just about to collect material for a big CDTV titles
catalogue, where these perhaps stem from. Be patient for a few weeks, then
this catalogue will fill you in about any question, I hope.

You should get a color catalog and price list with your CDTV.

It (Sim City) was completely rewritten for CDTV. CDTV style interface instead of
windows (I've never used the Amiga version, so I'm going from seeing the box
for it.), better graphics, different graphics for different eras (medevial,
wild west 1800's, and future along with the original modern), a CD soundtrack
and sounds that match with the era, and it supports languages set in the CDTV
defaults screen (text only, I think, but as far as I remember only one song
in the soundtrack has lyrics, in English). You can save cities to RAM card or
disk (with a 'k' as in floppy).

That's too bad, they're a great pair of titles to sell the machine with.
The encyclopedia was good, but I'm not sure if a lot of people would just
buy it if it was up to them to decide. Lemmings is a must have, but if you
have the Amiga version, I'm not sure if there's a difference between them.

This happened to me too, took an extra week to get it. I think Commodore may
have gotten more orders for the Pro Packages than they expected.

Those are available as CDTV apps too. American Heritage Dictionary is available,
I've never used it, but it was reviewed in .info issue #49, they seemed to like
it. I've used the world atlas title that's available, and from what I've heard
the American atlas title that's available is similar. Basically it's a digitized
collection of every paper map of every country. You could scroll around, click
on citys to get a city map. Text info along with some graphics (I think, I'm not
sure about the graphics) was available about each country. Also, for each
country, it told you what language was spoken there and had digitized recordings
of quite a few phrases in each language that you could play.

Commodore Netherlands distributes a list of all available titles. I guess
Commodore USA does the same.

> If anyone has heard of any good CDTV versions of current Amiga games or

Defender of the crown has been revamped for CDTV and is rather good. So is
Xenon II. There's a number of detective like adventures and Lemmings..

> Also, if you could note any major differences between CDTV game versions and

Most have same graphics but extended of CD quality sound. Xenon II _IS_ a
megablast on CDTV! It has '3D sound' played on a surround system it's
awsome!

> I am also interested in any amiga applications for this machine as well

Well, there is Trivial persuit which is GREAT when played with a party. You
can play CD+G Karaoke discs (and you can play ALL tracks in any order
unlike CD-I :^) ) There is a title from NASA with a _HUGE_ CDXL sequence
covering just about the complete NASA history. There's Grolliers and
Hutchinsons Enceclopedia and the Great American Dictionary..

If there's any nterest I can mail anyone the list Commodore NL supplies.

If there's enough interest I might even post it here..
