Does anyone know where I can get the solution to Ambermoon?

Stuck in Ambermoon-help! I can't get my associates to cross the
ocean like I can or at least I can't find this ship+captain on the
next island as its deserted!

A bit complicated, but IIRC you have to do the following (all written
down from my memory, so forgive minor mistakes):

- Get yourself a pickaxe:
Talk to the guys in the pub, and one will tell you about the guild of
thieves and about how desperetaley he is looking for a special ring
which is now owned by the Necromancer roaming the local cemetery.
Kill the necromancer and bring the ring to the guy. He will give you
the password for the guild of thieves. There you will find a shop
where you can buy a pickaxe.
- Tear down the barrier in the cellar beneath grandfathers house
He will then die and Antonius, the healer will be in the healers house
in the town of Spannenberg from this time on.
- Go to the house in the northeast of Spannenberg, where a man and his
daughter live. She suffers from swamp feaver and asks you to find a
cure.
- Father Antonius in the healers' house knows about this cure, but needs
some ingredients which he asks to bring you.
Do so. :-)
(You might be wanting to hunt down the pirates hideout in the northern
desert before, to get some experience points and some decent weapons).
- Now bring the cure to the girl, and the man gives you a ring of
swimming.
- Dismiss your party (the fighter you met in the fighting school and the
mage you met in the tower) for now and cross the small canal which leads
to the southern isle, where you will find a raft.

Now you can reassamble your party and safely cross the canal with the
raft, where the next quest awaits. ;-)

And have fun with the game, it's really great.

Indeed, it looks interesting according to your explanation :) This is
what I wish there was on the MUD I'm playing... ie adventure games-like
quests, with objects to find aso..
Hm I never really played any RPG indeed. I don't like to control a team
of characters, and all that magical stuff...

First of all you have to get a Ring of Sobeck (it gives swimming on
99%) and go with one person (split team) to next island for a
boat (well it's no a boat but ...) - get back for rest of team and
that's it. Later you will get a true ship in city that can swim
even on those white/blue parts of see). Next step is to get which
broadstick so you will be able to fly (much faster). And on the
end you need to fly on eagle. That's the whole story of transport
in Ambermoon ;)

Actually another Ambermoon Q, I need just one more lockpick to open a
chest that contains the third and last Ice water flask that will
quench the fire of Luminor.Any suggestions as I used the last two on
the first two chests and I'd love to know where I could buy some more
or can I perhaps open it another way? (and no lock picking has made no
difference)

There are plenty of lockpicks to be bought in the shop in the guild of
thieves, and you will also find lockpicks in the thieves' desert hideout
(if memory serves me right, there are quite some valuable items hidden
inside the barrel in the sleeping room upstairs).

My, I think I will reinstall Ambermoon right now. ;-)

What am I supposed to say now? ;-)
Just have a look at Ambermoon if you can, it's really one of the best
designed (technical and storywise) game for the Amiga.
And the "magical" stuff is not *that* omnipresent as in some other RPGs,
magic is basically only needed in fights. Just try it out.

Or try Adom (game/role/adomxxx.lha, where xxx stands for 040, 060 or PPC),
which is a freeware role playing game (in the graphical tradition of
Hack) which also has many subquests like Ambermoon and Amberstar has.

Hi everyone,

I dunno if any of you remember but the Thalion Webshrine used to have
an Ambermoon hints and tips. I could try and resurrect it. (We can host
it anymore as we dont have our own server that allows CGI scripts
anymore.

Also there is a solution in English, complete full, extensive. But I
chose not to release it just yet until it has been converted to a
series of Questions and answers (in HTML). Rather than a TXT file, to
avoid spoilers!

Suggestion: How about (also) converting it into a UHS file? Just today,
a nice MUI-based UHS reader appeared on Aminet, and I always thought
that the system UHS chooses is the best system there can be to give
spoiler-free, exact hints about a certain problem one might encounter in
a game.
If you don't know what UHS is, check out http://www.uhs-hints.com.

Isnt it just as much work to create a UHS file as it is a series of
HTML files?

I'm going to have a go at partitioning the solution tonight, (it's
already in subsections). I'll repeat the subdivision, and then come up
with a hierarchical tree, which you click to get answers.

Click on S'Ariel, then Click on Orbs or something, so you cant read too
much about the next section!

Is the Thalion Webshrine still up? Where? The old adress does not seem to

Thats cos you bookmarked the absolute URL (it moves around a bit). If
you use one of the web pointers (http://thalion.amiga.tm or
http://thalion.atari.org) you should be fine!
