Did Ian Bird write any games other than:
1. MILLENIUM 2.2 .... Brilliant Space Strategy.
2. DEUTEROS... More complex Space Strategy but technically inferior to
Millenium. BTW is there a way to get the pirate into the prison pod?

Q: Are you sure he wrote those games?

Ian Bird was the co-author of the original Elite, then David Braben (the
best around IMHO) continued his stuffs, but Ian quitted game programming.
About two years ago I heard a rumour that he (Ian) was working on a PC
game, I recall it was in the same magazine's article that was talking about
a console (Saturn) game under work by Braben.

Looks like a telenovela. :)

If anyone knows, please add details!

You're confusing Ian Bird (who did indeed write Millenium and Deuteros)
with Ian Bell (who co-authored Elite with David Braben).

Hmmmmm....... that's funny, the name Bird doesn't ring a bell. Its Ian
Bell, who sometimes posts to alt.fan.elite and if you're interested
in a short interview with David Braben, you might take a look at
http://www.angusm.demon.co.uk

Regards,
Angus.

I believe if you give a little bit of love to those you live with, a little
bit of love........... has got to come your way.

Heh.

That's Ian Bell, I believe.
I don't know who wrote 2.2 and Deuteros, though.

The best around? Urg. None of his Frontier stuff works properly,
and if http://www.gamesdomain.co.uk/gdreview/archive/iview003.html
is true, (And it's been up a long time, I'm sure if it wasn't
Braben could have had it removed by now) then he doesn't
sound all that honorable a person.

Well, the page above briefly mentions an Aikido fighting game,
and I think he mentioned what he was currently up to a few months
back on alt.fan.elite, but I can't find anything there..

I have emailed Mr Bell to ask what he's up to gameswise,
possibly he will tell us for himself.
