Hi All

Has anyone know if cannon fodder is out in the shops..

I would love it

Have you all played the demo...
I have played the first one but apparently theres one with helicopters in it...

Does anyone know where that can be got from...

Also..

Settlers. Has anyone seen/got/played this????

Apparantly, it was supposed to come out on 24th, but accorinding to Special
Reserve (UK Club) it came out yesterday (29th) - and they are out of stock for
about a week. I played the original demo and thought it was great, especially
the last level in the snow - took me ages to complete it. I also got the later
demo (history of a game I think it was called). This was the same map done
4 times, with increasing detail and features. The last level had a helicopter
and it just flew about bombing the crap out of you (grenade type bombs). I
never completed this, cos I got pissed off waiting for it to go back to the
main screen and then load the level again. I cant remember the mag it was from
either I'm afraid. I saw a review of the game on Sat and it said.....

I found the second demo last night. It was on the front cover of Amiga Power
(DISK 31), from around about September or October. Managed to complete the
helocopter scene as well.....excellent, you actually get to fly one !!

When you're in it, they seem to have unlimited missiles which launch like
a horiontal cruise missile - great to watch, then they home in on your
target (some poor guy, alone in the jungle...and bang....cannon fodder !!).

It also mentioned tanks in the features for that scene, but I flew right
round and couldnt see one at all. The other thing that was quite good was
that if you dont blow up the enemy helicopter before you get in yours then
he comes after you, rams you, and you both go down !!

Did you find the chopper that you can use? It's fuckin' great, you get
heat seeking missles.... Anyway the level is very easy with it since
nothin can harm you 'cept multiple exposions directly below you. BTW if
you go down from the starting position, across the lake on the bottom
right corner of land the chopper is there.
I've just ordered the game myself, can't wait ;)

Yes, it's in the shops now, Future Zone to be exact. My mate bought it
yesterday for his 1200 and spent hours wasting the little geezers that
wander around trying to waste you ;-) I thought it was a bit gruesome for
the kiddies as there is loads of blood gushing bits when you die but it
played very well and sounded excellent. Check out the demo on the front
cover of Amiga Format before you part with your cash and make up your mind
from this. I'm in no way trying to slag it off, I thought it was very good,
but just not to my taste really (not it wars and stuff you see).

Well I've just got one thing to say....

WAR, has never been so much fun !!!!!!!!!

I have just finished mission 5 and am finding mission 6 rather difficult
to say the least. I absolutely loved jumping the river in the skidoo, landing
on a guy with a mortar and then running over three others before my brave
trooper leapt out of it and fired a grenade at the building and blew
everything up including the building, about 5 enemy bastards, some ammo
supplies and of course himself.... what a good way to go.....

There are 24 missions and I am not even a quarter of the way through yet
and its getting pretty tactical and deep. I can't wait to try out the
neato hardware you get later on :-))))))

By the way doesn't the list of dead people at the end of a mission make you
think......

Yup, cannon fodder is GREAT! I too am having trouble with level six. Boy, was
that ever fun jumpin the river with the skidoo!! I love this game!
