Ha. A few minutes after I tried the keyfile link, it worked, sort of. It did not
yield a keyfile though. Here's what the resulting page said:
---------------------------------------------------------------
Thank you
Your request for an iBrowse 2 keyfile has been processed. Very
shortly your keyfile will be delivered to this email address:
[snipped]
The above email address is what you typed into the email field on
the keyfile request form. If this address is incorrect or you do not
receive your keyfile within 24hrs (normally you should have it in
minutes), please email iBrowse technical support for assistance.
---------------------------------------------------------------
Maybe a keyfile will magically appear in my mailbox shortly?

OK, I followed the instructions Steve posted. On my order history detail page, I
see links to "request keyfile" and "Download docs".
The keyfile link does not work.
The download link results in DLing a file called "mortrubsman.lha", which I have
not unpacked yet.
Steve, I see in my history that I have bought this program twice, which I did at
Yabba's urging. We were figuring out the order process.

Yes, I got it. Good work Steve.
Harv,
My attachment was correctly labelled. Of course I use NS4.6 for mail. Perhaps
some other email programs do not recognize the name?

Okay, good. That worked. (Took 20 minutes.. ) I now have my keyfile.
Steve please note it came through via an unnamed email attachment. I
had to rename it.

And this time, you will need to *accept* coockies, otherwise you will
receive these error messages:
You have entered a badly-formed email address. Please check and try again.
Please make sure that you have entered a First name and a Last name.
Check and try again.
There is something wrong with the order number you have entered; perhaps
it has been used before or is not valid. Please check and try again.
Do IBrowse care of the KEYPATH env variable (I wish to save all my keyfiles
on another partition) ?

What happens when u click the link?

Okay. Received my keyfile with no problems. It would have been nice if the
original download page stated that you would have to revisit your order history
to pick up the keyfile. I'm sure there are alot of people like myself who have
been sitting here since Monday waiting for it to be emailed directly...
Anyway, one thing really bugs me about the upgrade and I wonder if you can
clarify. A significant advance in later versions of iBrowse allowed you to
select FASTMEM instead of CHIPMEM for images. This greatly reduced crashes on
graphic heavy pages and allowed those of us with mucho memory to take advantage
of it. However, iBrowse 2.1 does not appear to have that option! Can you
explain if it is still available, how do I activate it... or is this something
that will be in the future, or perhaps a feature that has been tossed
completely? Appreciate any insights that you or Stephan can provide.
Thanks much!

Goto your HTML Images prefs - the option is there ;-)
I've got the same problem! When I click on that link I get to the
"How do I get my iBrowse 2 keyfile?" page but there's a new text in
red: "OOPS Sorry but an odd error has occurred. Please check what you
did and try again".
What's wrong?

but this seemingly works if and only if the order was placed with the
speedyshop account created _before_ the order. i created an account after the
order, saw nothing, began another order (but i will not enter a credit card
number again--double billing) and see only that partial order show up on the
order history list. now keyfile link/details page.
yes, i've e-mailed ibrowse-support.

Well I use Pine in a UNIX shell account.. not sure which version of
Pine, but the attachment came through with a name of "". So I just
renamed it and it works fine. Usually attachments come through into
Pine with their correct filenames. If they have spaces in them, I have
to rename them first.
I like having a shell account. I've had this
one for over ten years. I'm used to it. But I use PPP clients too
(posting this with NewsRog). I use MiamiDX, it dials up Netcom, logs
me in, starts SLiRP, and there's my PPP connection. If I want a
Shell, to use Pine, Tin, do Zmodem downloads, whatever,
I can just telnet back into it. This also allows me to use a good old
dialup terminal program too, if I want to. Like on a couple tiny PDAs
I own. The best of both worlds.

ok, the interminable wait with miamissl caused me to come to my wife's
machine. using the above link on netscape, i got verification that my keyfile
should be on its way in minutes. however--and this is the biggie--i still
cannot get to the ibrowse download, because i created my speedyshop account
after the order was placed. (i ordered it friday and created the ss account
on monday, i believe.)
now, the only file in the order history summary is the one i began to fill out
on monday--in hopes of gaining access to the downloadable file. there isn't a
"more" option because the status of this order is "current". my real order,
placed on friday, does not show up in the list.
one step closer, but not quite there just yet....

Same here, but I use TIN and simple mail. PINE is too complex for my
simple mind. ;-) (sorry for the off-topic post)

When I tested this I had the correct file name. I will check this again
though.
When I downloaded the keyfile using YAM it had an all numeric name.
Maybe your CGI script is gonzo.
Mine was the same way. I hacked around renaming it to IBrowse.key,
IBrowse2.key, etc. until it decided to work. A mite annoying... But
otherwise I'm overall very pleased with the update.

The numeric name, if you check will be a modification of the Internal
name that YAM is using for the whole E-Mail (Such as (in my case), the
internal file name being 07919.022 and the filename being set to
07919.022-2 when saving the binary file - default name apparently for
YAM)
(the name="IBrowse2Key" was added to correct the MIME for Yam)

Just for the record, my keyfile came through unnamed also ... and worked
fine after I (re)named it appropriately.
This was with both YAM 2.0 and THOR 2.6

I just wanted to let everyone know that it worked fine with Voodoo, and
the file saved fine, it was named appropriately.... but I have a different
problem. For some reason the SSL isn't working on the new IBrowse2.1, and
I copied the old library into the new ibrowse directory and it still isn't
working.... I really don't know where it would be looking, and I use a system
watcher and it doesn't even look like it's trying to open anything. Is
this just a problem that I'm having? Or do I not get to use SSL since I don't
want to use Miami just yet?
