Well, I've had at least 4 Quantum SCSI drives over the years and only
one of them gave me a problem. I returned the drive to Quantum within
the warranty period and they promptly replaced it with a brand new
drive.

I too have had 2 Quantum SCSI drives and the only problem I've had is
fragged sectors and I usually take care of that with Reorg. My next
drive will be 2-3 gig Quantum

I still have .... and it's running full time.... A 105 LPS Quantum that I
bought new installed on a Supra WordSync II card. The card has long since died,
but the drive is my VMM swap area ... Almost 10 years old now.
Have had three others, all with no problems. The lastest is a two year old 2.1
Gig FireBall...

I've used Quantum in Amigas and PC for many years. The only problem
I've ever seen if the old Fireball drives have on-board active
termination, and don't play well with SCSI-1 or some SCSI-2 devices.

Sorry 'bout this (slightly OT) but would any1 know why ReOrg won't
work on my machine.
I have a 2.56G IDE InstDrive 2/8 Meg RAM and even with no other
programs running in the background ReOrg always either crashes. Or
fails in trying to re-org my Work partition,(1.7Gig)
Cheers

Probably running out of memory. Try increasing the "Safety Memory". I'm not
sure why, but it worked for me.

I'll tell ya what, you need a sh*tload of RAM to do a partition that
size! I have to shut everything down to free up as much of my 2/16 as
I can just to do my 1.2 GB drive. In short, buy more memory.
A friend can't defrag his 1 gig HD with reorg because he only has 8
megs ram, reorg just says out of memory. Run disksalv to check for
errors (particuarly hard errors). Run an RDB check. If none of that
sheds any light, try running reorg when booting without startup. If it
works, it was something in your startup.
