For over a year now I have been working on a project to acquire
CNet/Pro Amiga BBS from the current owner (Todd H. Knight). It has
been a long and complicated process given the history of the software
and owners/developers.

I started this project because I have a passion for the software. I
originally started with C-Net 64 when Ken Pletzer was writing it. As
the C-Net software evolved over the years, so did I. It was migrated
to the C= 128 and finally to Amiga platforms. All along the way I was
there trying to figure out what things could be done with this
software!

As a result of this I learned Basic 2.0 and ML for the C=64, as well as
Basic 7.0 and ML for the C= 128. Then came the big jump to C and asm
on the Amiga platform. All in all I learned 6 different, although some
very similar, programming languages as a result of using this software.

In fact, if it were not for C-Net, I might not have chosen the carreer
I did, a programmer, network engineer and now I own a small IT company
in the Dallas/Fort Worth area of Texas. I owe some of my success to
C-Net.

I have hopes of acquiring CNet and thus saving this great software from
extinction. I even have some plans for it's future.

A few nights ago I announced on Future World II (my BBS) that all of
the prep work has been completed (Copyrights Research, Code Valuations,
Code Reviews, Testing, Contract Written, and negotiations with Todd)
and now all that is left to move forward is to complete one small final
step.

But this is the BIG ONE one! It's "do or die" time for CNet. Todd and
I have agreed to meet several times between now and the end of the year
(Only a day left). I have also notified Todd that if this deal does
not close on or before 11:00pm (CST) December 31, 2005, I am rescinding
my offer to acquire CNet and will not entertain any other negotiations
pertaining to CNet!

I will stand ready this New Year's Eve on my BBS to announce the final
outcome of this project! Will C-Net once again be under development
after many years of laying dormant, or will it be like so many other
software packages and slip away into extinction only to be the fond
memories of so many SysOps.

If you have a moment on New Year's Eve, come join us at Future World II
(telnet to fw2.cnetbbs.net) and celebrate the New Year and find out
about the final conclusion to this project. I'll be online throughout
the evening and night to give you updates on my progress.

Final notice will be posted on the BBS at 11:30pm New Year's Eve.
