Well, I decided to trek down my local highstreet this dinnertime and see
if I could get a CD32. Its due for release this weekend I believe.

I found it in Rumbelows, for 299 ukp with 2 games.

Unfortunately the software hadnt come with it, a problem with C= apparently.
I still dont know what these titles are, and I was half expecting DIGGERS and
PINBALL FANTASIES, but AFAIK these are both ready. I now suspect it could
be one of those and JURASSIC PARK, and the delays are caused by the licensing
hassles. Either that or duplication problems? So, I left the shop empty
handed.

FALCON****

I just read a post stating the falcon had sold 8-10,000 in the UK. Well,
I have yet to see a single Falcon, or Atari even - in the shops or in magazines.
No competition at all.

JAGUAR****

As many people have posted, you can have all the specs of an SGI machine,
without software youre nothing.
*IF* it gets software, AND it performs well, then I see no problem
whatsoever in it co-existing with any of the current consoles including CD32.
In fact CD32 isnt a direct competitor in my book.
How many people have a computer AND a console? The more games machines the
merrier. Competition is the only way to advance the technology. CD32 has
a definate edge in it is CD based. If CBM get their finger out and not
only market it as a games console, but also get displays on huge TVs next
to CDi with suitable education software, and also over in the hi-fi area
blasting out a CD with video at the same time.. they will be onto a MASSIVE
winner over xmas. Get the mpeg module in it and also put it over with the
videos. Anyone walking into the store will then see the same machine
playing cool games, having educational/serious software, playing music CDs
in high quality AND playing a star wars video with full stereo CD soundtrack.

Thats not much to ask is it :-) They could even have one hooked up to
a 14" TV/monitor, next to a big screen TV/Stereo set up with a promo
video running. Standard sales stuff, but it would certainly turn
heads and get `yer average punter' looking at it.
