I have a AIX 4.2.1 machine that is hung in booting up(looking for NIS
master server). The only way I can get into single user mode is with
the installation disk. I have the original but it has a large crack
in it. Does any one know where I can get a hold of another disk? I
have contacted IBM and they no longer support version 4.2.1 and do not
have any disks.

Thanks

You might try eBay.

What about a mksysb ? Do you have one ? I think there is a
maintenance shell option there...
