Funny vertical lines on my monitor

Dear Acorn users,

For the past weeks or so I've been experiencing a weird fault with my
monitor or video hardware. I'm getting some weird, mostly greenish,
vertical lines every 10-20 OS units in some patches of the screen. The
effect is most noticeable for a while after the computer is turned on,
is nearly always present in the top left corner of the screen, and
always just to the right of a window containing a lot of blue (e.g., a
Zap editing window).

Has anyone else experienced this phenomenon or have any idea what it
could be?

Any insight would be appreciated.
