A9home-LanMan98 connection to Mac OSX 10.5 fails

Dear all

I have been using my A9home on a network with a macintosh computer
(Power PC cube) using LanMan 98 (Version 1.22). Since I have upgraded
from OSX 10.3.9 to OSX 10.5 (now at 10.5.8) on a Mac Mini any attempts
to access files on the Mac have failed.
When configuring the Mac as an FTP-server and defining shares on the
Mac side with appropriate access rights, LanMan 98 would report
"Access denied". When using Samba it would connect but loose
connection when I tried to access the remote volume on the A9home.
Did anyone experience the same problem? Might it be solved by
upgrading LanMan 98 to version 2?
