Yes, I have. I'll consider it on Monday when I've recovered from
a busy weekend...

Yes.
Why on earth would anybody pay this company 29.375% of any tax rebate due
when they could just fill in the relevant section of their tax return
themselves?
I imagine that we all did this to get back the original tax we had paid on
the money used to purchase the shares under the EIS scheme which of course
will reduce any claim we could make now.
If my reading of the tax guides is correct we can only offset the losses
against capital gains. With the down turn in the stock market over the
last year I have only losses! However if anyone has recently sold a second
home or a valuable item at a profit that is liable to capital gains tax
then you might be able to offset it.
The worrying thing about the "Authorising your agent" form we are asked to
fill in is shown in item 2 on the back "We will send start sending letters
and forms to your agent and give them access to your information online."
I certainly do not wish to give my personal and financial details to an
organisation that I know nothing about. They may be perfectly genuine but
they could also be a front for harvesting details that could be used by
"boiler room" operations or worse.

I'm sure we all have: and my instinct agrees with yours. /If/ you're
entitled to reclaim any tax, it won't cost you 25% of the sum involved to do
so yourself. The communication went straight onto the recycling pile.

If you didn't know you could recover some of the money and or don't know how
to or haven't the time then they are providing a service.
Like HeirHunters I'd thank them and try and do it myself, but would back to
them if I failed.
