John Lewis broadband which is provided via PlusNet has decided to close
down it's broadband services and not accepting any new customers. They had
@
waitrose.com email addresses. As the JLB customers contract comes to an
end they will be advised to move their email elsewhere.
PlusNet are also no longer providing new customers with an email account
anymore. Existing customers at the moment still have email, but it has
been broadly hinted by PlusNet staff that email is to be phased out
sometime in 2023, this will include those with Force9 email addresses and
other ones they brought out years ago.
Also if you are an existing PlusNet customer and leave them you will
likely lose your email address and can't keep it as a free one anymore
afterwards which you could do up to I think it was March 2022.
Plus as on November 2022 PlusNet are also no longer accepting new Business
broadband customers, so it the beginning of the end for that as well.
BT Group owners of PlusNet are re-organising their three main broadband
services.
EE broadband will become their main consumer broadband provider.
BT will gradually move to dealing with Businesses and certain other
limited services.
PlusNet - low cost provider (maybe - it's unknown at the moment)
CJE Micro's probably needs to start looking at moving to a proper hosting
company and not rely on an ISP hosting service, sooner rather then later
to be honest.
