Coo! I remember him. I did robotics as a 3rd year option, and I believe
that our robotics group (of three people) were the best in the labs!
I remember that as the last exercise we were supposed to program a robot
to the the local light intensity to find its way back home. Our team
were the only ones who could do it, and 99% of the program was coded by
myself!

I can't comment on this, but I do know that 42 (the really cool robot)
does not use these boards. Heck, you can even telnet to it!!

A bit of a mix up here. Research into autonomous robots is being done
in the Electrical Division of the Manchester School of Engineering
at Manchester University (we were the department that built the
world first electronically stored program computer). This research
group doesn't have a web page (they are working on it). The URL
quoted is for the research group at the University of Salford who
are (1) in Salford a town close to but not in Manchester and (2)
a separate university from the University of Manchester. The
Computer Science department at Manchester (a spin off from us)
also do robotics research. Before anyone asks none of these places
are much to do with UMIST (who also have a Dept. of E&EE).

My apologies if I caused a mix-up. I thought I *carefully* quoted one of
your previous emails which contained all the info.

Please don't. Save yourself. I'd rather write assembly, cobol, algol-60
(actually, COBOL and smart move are pretty much matched)
I spent hours at school writing Smart Move software
and it has SO many pointless features, and omits so many useful ones
(debugging is a pain also)
