I think *h. or *Help. is even better
As for wordwise I think it is *W. or *word. or *word
Wordwise plus is an upgrade from Wordwise and I think is started in
the same way. It has a load of embedded commands to make it more
functional than Worwise and came with a 174 page manual written by
John Coll who wrote the original BBC Micro User Guide (not the
provisional one)
Interword is started by typing *IWORD or *IW. and I guess intersheet
is similar. Interword does away with most of the embedded commands in
WW+ as far as I recall
Incidentally to get back to Basic it is *Basic or *B.
ROMs (EPROMs) such as Discdoctor, Toolkit etc will only reveal their
secrets from a *H. or *help. command. They are not 'languages' as
such just providing useful tools...
I have original documentation for most of the ROMs you mention but it
is ages since I used them.
Which machine do you have? The standarrd Beeb would not support all
these Roms without a special add on board though the master has the
plug in 'cartridge option'.

Turn left where the chip shop used to be.
If you go to <http://bbcmicro.net/old-8bs/manuals.htm> you will find manuals
for most of these, as well as more general BBC documentation.. Some are just
plain scans but many are in RTF or PDF format.

With *WIPE depending on the ordering of the DFS and Wordise ROMs

For the reason above.

If it's of any use to you, I have just uploaded a program to
www.Torrens.org.uk/RO/Navigator
It's a BBC menu type program I wrote ages ago for navigating around
discs, housekeeping and automatically loading programs. It could
recognise several common file types and do the right thing with them.
