Hi all,

I came across this website in my hunt for SNES ROMs and was surprised to
see a link to download Archimedes software.

http://www.doperoms.com

I'm not totally sure of the legality of some of the games (Quite a few
are from magazine coverdisks and/or PD) but I'm certain things like
Simon The Sorceror aren't supposed to be downloadable.

Is there anyone I can report this to?

Cheers,
Rob

A lot of this stuff would now be owned by 4D/CJE, with no doubt some
other stuff belonging to APDL. That'd be your starting point.

Why report it?

This toe rag turns up from time to time. A couple of weeks ago his last site
was closed down but it's almost a waste of time getting it shut down as it
just pops up again.

However, IME there's just about nothing there that's of any use. It's all
either badly broken, copy protected disc images that will only work from
ADFS:0 so no good for emulators or multi-disc sets with missing or
duplicated discs. So don't waste your time and bandwidth downloading lots of
stuff.

I've just had another look and it seems that since the last 'altercation'
he's removed all the Archimedes stuff, so no worries (until it all turns up
again somewhere else.

BTW it all appears on a CD from time to time. Don't bother buying it, on a
CD full of games I think I found about half a dozen very ancient ones that
were functional, but you'd need an old A400 or A3000 to run them.

I remember a CD sold by ProAction that fits this description precisely!

Yes I emailed the webmaster and he promptly removed all RISC OS software not
just the titles that I listed as still being 'published' he also emailed me
asking how much to buy the rights. My reply to him bounced!

Probably just as well, it might have given him a heart-attack right?
