Hi,
I have recently re-installed PC Pro (V3.06) on my RPC with RO4.39,
because the mouse pointer had disappeared and I couldn't find any
other way to get it back.

After overcoming some problems with the floppy drive, I got everything
working OK including Windows95 and the mouse pointer. However after
copying some 'MS Office' software files onto drive_C (500MB partition)
using RISC OS with PC Pro not running, I restarted PC Pro and
Windows95, but the mouse pointer had disappeared. (I hadn't managed to
get 'MSOffice running yet).
(The mouse pointer disappeared originally when I was downloading and
installing some new software using the PC card and Win95).

If I use the keyboard to navigate to Device Manager in Win95, it shows
the expected bus mouse, but the mouse icon has a yellow '!' over it.
Looking at 'Standard Bus Adapter Mouse properties, lists 'Input/Output
Range 023C-023F' and 'Interrupt Request 03'. 'Use automatic settings'
is ticked. Deleting the mouse and restarting to let it re-install
appeared to install it as before, but didn't fix it. Windows appears
to use mouse driver C:\windows\system\msmouse.vxd and \mouse.drv ,
which are there.

I'd be grateful for any ideas on how to fix it.
Thanks,

Anything else trying to use IRQ3? There are some situations in which
you need to switch the mouse to 5 - see !PCConfig and the manual.

HTH,
Andrew
(PCcard-less at present as the Kinetic doesn't see to co-exist happily)

thanks Andrew. Nothing else using IRQ3 that I can find. Device Manager
Mouse properties reports 'no conflict'. I just tried using !PCConfig
to swap IRQs 3 & 5 over (IRQ5 was allocated to network card), but it
doesn't fix it and Device Manager still showing Interrupt 03 for the
mouse.
