We set up Aleph One's network links for a customer a while ago to access an
NAS, we set the NAS to not need a password, all worked fine for a while but
the customer is now asked for a password when attempting to connect.

The same 'user' can still access the NAS via LanMan98 without a password, so
the problem is not at the NAS end.

Any ideas?

Differing versions of Windows have differing authentication
requirements when connecting to an SMB/CIFS share. Which version of
Windows are they using?

In article <20081001171...@trite.i.flarn.net.i.flarn.net>,

Windows98

Whilst I'm sure that may be different from other Windows versions, I can't
see how that would cause something to stop working if no settings were
changed.
