Once a year I create a list of receipts and payments using the 26 bit
app TableMate.

Hitherto it has run successfully under Aemulor on an Iyonix using
RISC OS 5.xx (where xx less than 18).

Now that I am on 5.19 it fails. Here is an extract from the Reporter
log:

[WindowManager/] %Obey ADFS::HardDisc5.$.APPZ.T1.!TableMate.!Run
21:39:38.28 ** Error **
Error : &80000002
Message: Internal error: abort on data transfer at &00007A5C

Has anyone else hit this problem?

John

Aemulor does not run apps under the later 5.19 releases - Publisher,
Eureka etc - they all fail.

Thanks Chris,
I have already discovered that Publisher fails. So the only two apps
that I need Aemulor for don't work.

At the moment this is not a problem because I can softload 5.18 on
startup.
Do you know if the problem will be fixed in 5.20?
If not the softload to previous level ie 5.19 will not work.

The statement about softload above is incorrect. The softload is to
5.19 of course. 5.18 is in the ROM, but 5.19 is softloaded by default.

Nothing's been conciously changed in the OS (post 5.18) to stop
Aemulor from working.
Indeed, just recently a Raspberry Pi version has been released which
runs on top of 5.19 happily, but internally the emulation methods
might be subtly different.

If you've got extra data points (apps that do/don't work) perhaps
email these to the Aemulor folks to see if it rings any bells?

None of the apps I tried worked - the error address was always in the
Aemulor module. Going back to 5.18 was fine as far as Aemulor was
concerned, but on my system networking is then broken (I do upgrade
!Boot intermittently so it may be some change in that). I am now
using Aemulor Pro/Publisher+ on the BeagleBoard, so haven't done any
more tests on the Iyonix.

There were a number of posts about this problem when it first started
happening.

And what version of RISC OS does the BeagleBoard have? That data point
(that a given set of versions of OS/Aemulor/Publisher *does* work) may
be equally valuable to the Aemulor folks in tracking down what's
special about the Iyonix one.

Posting here might be insightful for some, plus to the module authors
by email,
Sprow.

5.19. Both the Iyonix and BB are running regularly updated ROMs,
rarely more than a week old (I do run them 24/7 so don't bother
updating the ROM every day).
