In attempting to send an e-mail the outgoing message failed when I saw
"message timed out" although the outgoing mail was not complete. Why
do I get this message and how do I cancel it? Having then decided to
cancel the e_mail I was unable to do so for every time I attempted
this action I was confronted with "Transport control Failed- control
file not found(1)"
Using Iyonix 5.12
Help needed please?

Because your ISP's mail server has not handled it.

You don't you leave it to try again.

You don't give any information which might be useful to anyone trying
to help such as what email software you are using, so here is a canned
answer.

Depending on which email software you are using open either

!Hermes.MailDir.mailout

or

!POPstar.MailDir.spool.mqueue

Both contain a text and work subdirectory. Look for an orphaned file
which is only in one of them, and delete it.
