Southampton Acorn Users Group - March meeting

The next meeting of the Southampton Acorn Users Group will take place
on Tuesday March 9th from 19:00 until 21:00 at Itchen College, Middle
Road, Bitterne, Southampton. We will be in room S1. Admission is
GBP1.00 and all are welcome.

I will have my new BeagleBoard with me. If you want to try software
and/or hardware for BeagleBoard compatibility, please bring it with
you.

I have only had the BeagleBoard for a few days, so I can't do what
you might call a "proper" demonstration of it, but it does boot
RISC OS from a ROM image (held in an SD card) and a disc image
(held in a USB stick), so there is a 1024 * 768 desktop and a basic
HardDisc image (unusually it's HardDisc0 rather than HardDisc4...
too much detail!) It also has Ethernet connectivity, through a
USB Ethernet dongle on an external 7 port USB hub, and NetSurf
runs on it. Sorry, there will not be Internet access on the
night.

Of the few USB devices I've tried that work on the Iyonix, all
work equally well on the BeagleBoard.

Anyway, come and play!
