R-Comp Interactive announce Descent 2 and Krisalis CD

Hi folks!

Two big entertainment releases at Wakefield this year:

DESCENT 2

The sequel to the smash hit Descent makes its way to RISC OS.
This is a stunning, true 3D game with lots of excitement. You
pilot a small, nimble spacecraft around mines, rescuing hostages
and combatting enemy craft. The sequel adds far more sophisticated
weaponary and flight experience with 10 separated primary weapons
and 10 different secondary missile and mine types. Various
different cameras can be displayed to help you navigate, markers
placed etc.

The RISC OS version adds high resolution screen modes, and 16
and 32 bit colour. Bilinear graphics filtering is also available
for that "3D accelerated" look, as well as transparency effects.
Note that these do place a significant burden on the processor!

The game demands a StrongArm or Kinetic machine, and a CD drive.

Pricing is to be confirmed at the show, but it will be available
both as an upgrade for Descent 1 owners, and in a double pack
with the original game.



KRISALIS CD

Another new show release, this CD contains upgrades for nearly
all the classic hit games released by Krisalis to make them
run on RO4/Strongarm. (The only obvious ommisions are the two
MUFC football games). Additionally, high quality online
documentation is provided for the games. Finally, and possibly
more importantly, there are over 10 (12 or 13 I think) full
games on the CD. As a bonus, the two former Gremlin games
Zool and Premier Manager are included in the latest, updated
forms. We have tried to include Arm610/710/7500 patches in
a number of cases, but priority has been StrongArm systems.

Again pricing has yet to be confirmed, although it is expected
to be 25ukp at the show. Upgrades for people who have already
purchased patches for Krisalis games will be possible, so ask
at the show or give us a call next week if this may apply to
you.
