Do you remember playing the game Dare Devil Denis on your BBC Micro?

Now you can play it again under RISC OS!

After the last release of my BBC emulator, I though I'd see how difficult it
would be to convert a BBC game and make it run under RISC OS without the aid of
an emulator. The approach I took was to write a translator program that would
take a 6502 binary, disassemble it and then produce 'C' source code to do
exactly what the original game did. So, instead of having to rewrite the game
from scratch and trying to get everything the same, I now have an exact
conversion that looks, plays and feels the same as the original.

While Dare Devil Denis is quite a simple game and did not take long to convert,
I'm sure this method can be used on a lot more BBC games. I'd like to hear if
you have any sugestions as to which game I should tackle next. Bear in mind that
I cannot do any game still in Copyright. That means Acornsoft, Superior Software
or 4th Dimension titles. Titles such as Zalaga, Guardian, Chuckie Egg etc.
should be ok (I'm sure I'll get told if they aren't).

Anyway, please download the RISC OS version of Dare Devil Denis from
http://www.voyager.co.nz/~mikef/ under RISC OS Software.

Enjoy,
