Mike Colvin, a one-time Acorn dealer, as well as helping on the
stall, also donated a huge amount of Acorn goodies for us to sell.
So, how much did it raise this year (it was 3,600 pounds last year)?
In terms of cash, it raised just about...
5,000 pounds, that's five thousand pounds!
############ ####################
That would be wonderful in itself, but on top of that, we were given:
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Four BBC Micros and eleven RISC OS machines
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
plus a number of monitors and printers.
These will all be shipped out to Rumania in the spring by folks at
Pocklington School, near York.
We have more schools offering to send us Beebs and Masters, but if
anyone has a RISC OS computer of any sort, that they would like to
see going to a good home, do please email me.
Finally, if anyone has an old SX33 or SX40 PC card they are willing
to donate, I can sell them to customers at NCS for about 40 pounds a
time, all of which goes into the charity pot.
Oh, where=91s the money going? We decided this year to give smaller
amounts to a number of different charities. These will include:
ARMS (Action for Research on MS)
A charity doing research into ME (Does anyone know of one?)
Famine relief in Tanzania and Papua New Guinea
The Norwich Children=91s Fund, a medical charity
Plus a couple of other medical charities
Thanks again to all concerned.
