R-Comp software roundup for Wakefield show

We're pleased to announce a raft of software updates ready in time for
the Wakefield show. The good news for users (less good for us, I
guess!) is that they're all free updates for existing users, who have
either already received them, or will do shortly after the show.

Messenger Pro 7

MPro7 has recently seen a number of updates based on feature requests
of users, and expansion/improvement of the built-in POP/SMTP
capabilities introduced in Mpro 7. Enhancements are on-going with
regular updates of v7 since it was introduced last October.

SafeStore 2

Our popular backup software has been improved with enhancements to the
Mirror backup style, as well as new functionality when used in network
environments (eg. backing up to networked drives/computers). There
have also been a number of fixes for reported problem situations
(these tend to be unique situations to each user) but this update
rolls in all of the solutions that we've done for people over the last
few months.

Fireworkz Pro

A new version of FZ Pro is ready, which contains optimisations /
improvements for anyone using newer hardware, as well as improvements
to the user interface, import from older programs (eg. Pipedream), and
also database-engine integration improvements. Overall, another nice
update for this popular integrated word-processor, spreadsheet and
database.

MusicMan 2

Our high quality CD playback and audio extraction/conversion software
has seen many significant enhancements over the last few months,
including the ability to embed album artwork in files (which many
devices show whilst playing), internet links for researching music,
downloading artwork (even on a track-by-track basis - useful for
compilation discs), and significantly expanded music tagging. This
latter feature expands the software's ability to embed track
information in your files, including embedding info in WAV files for
hi-fi use, which is ignored by many non-RISC OS-alternatives. As many
readers will know, MusicMan2 has been well received in hi-fi circles
for both quality and functionality that isn't easy to come by
elsewhere.

UniPrint 4

UniPrint has recently seen some enhancements to its networking modes,
as well as performance improvements, and enhanced compatibility with
latest MS office products. This provides knock-on benefits for all of
UniPrint's file-launching capabilities.


So, yes, it's been a busy period!
