GSM900 as opposed to GSM1800 or GSM1900 etc..it is the frequency in MHz
in the UK, Cellnet and Vodaphone use GSM900 (except in some cities where
they have some GSM1800 transmitters) Orange and One to One (virgin etc) who
only use GSM1800, IIRC the USA has some GSM networks and amongst others
they use GSM1900.
And this is the reason for single-band, dual-band, and tri-band phones
Well thats as clear as mud then....
