Job description:
Manage group of engineers responsible for validation of acoustic,
speech, and audio performance of iPhone and iPod products. Establish
internal test processes and test plans. Develop, maintain and manage
objective and subjective test methods and tools to enable performance
assessments. Identify performance related issues during development
and production cycle and provide diagnostic feedback to design team on
root-cause and possible solutions. Direct and assist in performing
competitive device testing, benchmarking and comparisons. Present and
explain competitive analysis results to other core teams and
executives. Direct and assist with component supplier selection
studies. Work closely with product design and industrial design teams
to advise on and present test data from new product mock-ups.
Supervise and direct design and analysis of manufacturing acoustic and
audio test systems. Present and explain manufacturing acoustic and
audio to other core teams and executives.
Required skills:
* 7+ years of professional experience.
* 3+ years management experience.
* Good understanding of architectures, components, and subsystems of
mobile phones and music playback devices.
* Solid data analysis, summarization, and presentations skills a must.
* Experience with Acoustics, Signal Processing or audio processing.
* Knowledgeable of subjective and objective test methods used to
assess acoustic, speech, and audio performance.
* Familiar with domestic and international standards related to mobile
phones.
* Familiar with PEAQ (Perceptual Evaluation of Audio Standards) and
PESQ (Perceptual Evaluation of Speech Quality) standards, other
quantitative MOS algorithms
* Software project management experience
* Programming experience in PERL, C or Matlab
* Excellent communication skills required, both written & verbal.
Preferred Skills:
* Manufacturing acoustic and audio test experience a plus.
Estimated travel time (%):
