image manipulation utilities from two weeks ago

I saw sources for a set of image manipulation routines that looked quite
interesting fly across comp.sources.* about 2 weeks ago. Of special interest
is a utility that applies a Laplacian on an image to clean up its edges.

I saved them, but due to bad uucping on my part, the sources never made it
to my local machine and our gateway has long since wiped them.

Does any know -

a) how I can get to them again, thru uucp or anonymous ftp
b) which newsgroup it was
c) what the names of the utilities were
