Sorry for letting this second message go through; I was asleep at the
switch. :-(
FWIW, if any of you are affected by TELUS dropping its news service, I
disagree with their recommendations for alternate service. Google
Groups is about the most dreadful interface to Usenet that I can
imagine, and I've never heard anything good about Highwinds.
My recommendations for free news servers that are well run would be
Eternal September <http://www.eternal-september.org> and Albasani
<http://www.albasani.net>.
Another which is well run and inexpensive is Individual.net
<http://www.individual.net>. It costs 10 Euros per year and I find it
well worth the low cost.
