I am thinking of releasing some code under GPLv2. The program includes
the following footnote:

It is prohibited to include any part of this software into any other
software product or other work, not covered by version 2 of the
GNU General Public Licence.
A programmer (Keith Thompson) has advised that this wording may not be
consistent with the GPL licence.
Is he right on this matter? Does the footnote require rewording?
(I am in the United Kingdom of Great Britain, so the laws of England and Wales
are applicable for the purpose of this discussion).
