Methods & Toosl is currently conducting a one-question poll to know
how software configuration management (change management / version
control / continuous integration) is performed at your location? Go to
http://www.methodsandtools.com/dynpoll/vote.php to participate and to
see intermediate results.

No formal procedure and no tool
A formal procedure but no tool
A tool but no formal procedure
A formal procedure and a tool
Continuous integration (automated scm and unit testing)

What does "automated scm" mean, and is it somehow superior to a

It seems that it involves automatic posting,
but not automatic answering...

To read is always so much more difficult than to write.
SCM must actually be about reading,
while traditional CM was about writing.

I guess thus that automated scm is in fact obsolete
thinking.
