the only way i saw to enable me to use p4 diff / p4 diff2 with
custom tools (using Araxis, by the way) is to set the $P4DIFF
variables.
however, the manual also says that $P4DIFF does not work with
p4 diff2 command.
so, the question is whether there is ANY way to use custom
diff tools from command line, for both diff and diff2 ?
(i know its definitely possible from the GUI to diff
revisions using custom diff tool, cause we are doing it :)

of that sort on google.
never mind, i got my answer from Perforce's (extremely
quick) tech support.
just in case you were wondering, no, its not possible to do
a p4 diff2 with custom client, and the thing to do would
be to get 2 revisions in the temp files and then compare
them.
