A very interesting topic. i haven't read anything good on the precise
topic, but if you don't mind, we might just elaborate on that here.

you have the relevant material on your doorstep, living in india
> I need your help to outline my research path....
Knowledge transfer is about getting different types of knowledge from
one person or team or part of an organization to another.
Knowledge in that matter not just refers to raw data or information, but
rather to skills and abilities as well.
Agile development heavily relies on short transfer routes, immediate
feedback and teamwork interaction.

Search for people in india to help you with it, contact companies that
work with agile development. The search alone will give you first ideas
about social and cultural influence on that task.
Once you find people willing to help, follow agile principles in that
task, that way you will notice the issues first hand.
> because mostly work is done on agile and social and cultural knowledge

that is your challenge, there would be no point in doing what you do
know, if it had been done before. That would be reinventing wheels.

Not knowing india, but being interested, i would volunteer as an
imaginary "customer" for your work, with all that belongs to that role.
I will be demanding, clueless, impatient and unreliable.
Don't forget you will need indian "customers" as well, the customer can
be considered part of the team as well in agile projects.
My first question would be: "I heard that india has pretty rigid social
structures. People belong to different castes. Does that impose
difficulties in Teamwork? I could imagine that in indian companies this
will be adressed when positions are assigned, but do you always have
that choice with agile teams? What if two team members were supposed to
switch roles to improve quality of work?

Personally i think the project is perfect.
