JOB DESCRIPTION: Assists with designing, planning, scheduling,
monitoring, and auditing of data, database structure, queries and
reports from various LCPS data systems (Student Information System
(Oracle); develops, tests, and validates web-based LCPS Data Warehouse
reports (Oracle); extracts, transforms, and loads data from online
systems (various online assessments, MyLearningPlan, Virginia
Department of Education, etc.). Assists in the preparation,
processing, and analysis of data for local, State, and Federal
reporting requirements.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: -Compiles and audits data.
-Performs data analysis to complete a variety of State and local
reports.
-Assists in the administration of the LCPS data warehouse using Oracle
application software (Discoverer, Administrator).
-Prepares statistical reports.
-Performs steps to cleanse, manipulate, and standardize data for
database updates.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS: -Demonstrates strong aptitude for understanding
and integrating complex data sets from multiple sources, including
Microsoft Access, Oracle, and/or SQL.
-Experience with relational databases - Access, Oracle, and SQL.
-Understanding of statistical software programs (i.e. SPSS).
-Able to develop technical requirements for data and data base
structures.
-Exceptional organizational skills, analytical skills, strong written
and verbal presentation skills.
-Knowledgeable of best practices related to data extract,
transformation, and load processes.
-Strong computer skills using Microsoft Office especially Excel and
Access.
-Strong problem-solving, diagnostic, and analytical skills.
-High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
-Technical skill to handle large datasets using statistical software
such as SPSS.
-Minimum of 2 years experience in quantitative research or analyses.
