Is anyone aware of how to get the same functionality from the
aggregate function using counts as you can from using the percentage
or fraction function? In other words, for example, using the "FIN" or
"PIN" function you can generate a race distribution in which the race
percentages are in a row, per case, I'd like to get the counts rather
than percentages. I'd like to do this without using the "N" or
"Counts" function and then re-structuring the file but I am beginning
to think this may be the only way. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Thanks

One approach is to create a series of dummy (flag) variables and get
their SUMs in AGGREGATE.

Mr. Kendall:

Thanks, while I did think of that approach I was hoping for a more
canned approach
like the "PIN" and "FIN". But given your experience with SPSS I am
inclined
to believe my wish can't come true.
