I recently upgraded to SPSS 16 (and installed the patches), but I am
having a problem when trying to copy value labels between two open
files. I go to the particular cell that contains the labels, use Cntrl
+C and try to paste into the new file, but nothing happens. I'm
positive that this is something I did all the time with the older
version, as I frequently use a template database to create new, but
perhaps slightly different, databases depending on the group
responding to my survey. I want to avoid typing in group names every
time I create a new database, but as of yet, I can't figure out a fast
way to copy and past value labels between databases. Any thoughts or
similar experiences?

Thanks!

I've come across similar quirks in 16 when trying to copy and paste,
previously you could just click on something, so that it was
highlighted and then copy and paste. Now you have to double click and
manually highlight what it is you want to copy. After that you should
be able to paste as normal.

You do have to be careful as you tend to end up pasting something you
copied previously, which can have interesting results
