I am working on a dataset with a few hundred variables that we ran through PCA and came up with a handful of components. Is there anyway to now confirm these components using some type of CFA without using AMOS?

Basically the idea was to run the same PCA on half of the dataset (~1200 cases) and then to run some kind of CFA on the remaining cases to confirm our findings. It doesn't have to be super robust (like SEM) if there is something that is almost as good that I can run in SPSS.

If you need any other information please let me know; and thanks in advance for any help!!

Short of "rolling your own" in the MATRIX language, I don't think so.

Please tell us more about what your data are.
Why are you doing factor analysis? Are the variables test items that
you want to be be summative scores? Are they some other kind of repeated
measures?

what stopping rule did you use?

what about the factor analysis is it that you want to confirm?
