I am looking for information of Hotelling T- square test.

Why would you use it rather than using a normal t-test?

What is the difference between Hotellings T- square test with relation to
reliability as apposed to it's relation to multiple analysis of variance?

Where on SPSS for windows would you find the options for calculating
Hotellings T-square test?

Any information will be appreciated.
Thank you

In article <01bc27bd$75884ba0$4b14...@mpi.smartnet.co.za>,

T^2 is a multivariate generalization of the univariate t-test (or it's
square). It's used the same way in RELIABILITY as it would be in any
other procedure: to test the null hypothesis of equal means over the
items. T^2 is actually only available in RELIABILITY. Other procedures
(MANOVA, GLM) have Hotelling's Trace, which is actually a generalization
of T^2, and a straightforward transformation of it when T^2 is defined.
I'd suggest looking in a good applied text such as James Stevens'
_Applied Multivariate Statistics for the Social Sciences_ for further
information.
