I have several users that have SPSS 13.0.1 with the hotfix installed on
Windows XP SP2 computers will all of the critical security patch
applied.
The users are not an administrator on the computer.

When the users open a SPSS file from the desktop 4 files show up.

lsprst7.dll
sysprs7.dll
lsprst7.tgz
sysprs7.tgz

SPSS has confirmed that these files are temp/scratch files that the
program uses. They recommend that I change the temp directory folder.
I did change the temp folder to a newly created temp folder that I gave
the group "users" full control to. The files are still showing up.

Has anyone run in to this before and if so what is the fix? SPSS runs
with out a problem, the users are tired of deleting these files all the
time.

These files with .tgz extensions are scratch files though admittedly
you should not be getting them. Usually this is resolved through
updating your service pack and changing your temp directory folder.
The temp directory folder is found in Edit->Options, here you may
change its location outside of SPSS so scratch files are not saved into
your SPSS main folder. But more often then not, upgrading your Windows
Platform is the solution.
