Do anyone have a feel for the need for advanced optimization tools for
Octave?

We are considering releasing TOMLAB for Octave, but are not sure if
many people are interested.

Any comments (also negative) would be appreciated.

Best wishes, Marcus

How could one make a negative comment about this? Thank you for
considering to release your software!

Moreover, if you plan to use a GPL compatible license, it may eventually
be distributed with Octave or as an octave-forge package.

I suggest you make this same announcement on the Octave users list
<help-...@octave.org>.
