Hello,

I would like to know how to acces from a Windows (or linux) machine the
data contained on floppy disk formatted in a Next machine.
Is there any (free) emulator of the the NextStep OS that let me read it ?

Thank you,

Camilo

Hello,

you don't need an emulator just for that. Linux has the possibility to
mount, though read-only, NS-/OS-formatted media.

Have a look at the man(ual) page of 'mount', especially with for type ufs
(-t ufs) and subtype nextstep/openstep (ufstype=next-/openstep).

I don't know of or about a MS-windows way to do it.
[Emulators would be VMware or Virtual-PC (VPC), that should be able to
support NS/OS, and the free 'bochs', for which I don't know if it will
succeed in running NS/OS. But as written - just for reading a NS/OS-
formatted floppy, that seems overkill to me.]

Good luck,
