The angstrom "char(197)" symbol is not exported correctly when
exporting to a postscript file. Any way to work around this?
I have spent quite some time looking for solutions, and found there
have been other users having the same question, but no solutions found.
Any tip will be highly appreciated.
Thanks,
Xiangyun
I have still the same problem like Xiangyun. Is there really since that time not found a workaround? The Angstrom sign is destroyed during the export to pdf as well as eps.
Kind regards

What is an 'angstrom symbol'?
Assuming this has anything to do with Ångström,
then something like
text(0.5,0.5,'\AA','interpreter','latex')
print -dpdf test.pdf
should work.

There is an ugly workaround:
1. On the matlab figure, type A instead the angstrom symbol (that is capital A). This is to reserve space for the angstrom symbol.
2. Export to to EPS.
3. Edit, manually, the resulting EPS file, with text editor. Find the place with the "A" that you want to replace with the angstrom symbol, and type, instead, "\305" (that is: backslash-3-0-5). Save the file.
4. Now you're done. Open the EPS file with a postscript viewer and check the results.
