Control Canon EOS DSLR camera with Matlab

Hi all

I am doing an experiment using a Canon EOS DSLR camera. I want to control it with matlab.

There is a toolbox for canon cameras but it does not support EOS DSLR cameras.

Do you have any ideas about how I can do that?

Hi Peter,

I have been trying to do the same thing.
My solution was to make an arduino remote for my canon SLR using the following guide.
http://www.instructables.com/id/Remote-Canon-DSLR-Video-Trigger/step4/Arduino-Code/

I then connected to arduino via USB-serial through matlab so I could send a command to take a picture.

Thank you for your help. I am using a USB camera instead now which can be easily controlled by matlab. But your suggestions are very helpful. We may try it later!

Anybody know where the camerabox is these days? the link above returns 404

I am trying to make my own timelapse software and I am trying to control my Eos DSLR camera by matlab, did you solve the issue?

I can not connect it.

Hello all,

Please try this MatLab wrapper for controlling tethered (USB connected) DSLR cameras with the open source DigiCamControl windows application.
Timelapse, bracketing, multiple cameras, astronomy, imagination is you limit.
