I've tried to ask if someone has succeeded in having matlab launched
from a shortcut in linux (a .desktop file) without any luck. I have
another question.
While using simulink, I have a very ugly small font for simulink object
properties. I mean, when you have to set up a block parameter, the
window has very a small font size, almost unreadable. Note that all
other fonts are well set, although ugly (no antialiasing... java...).
Anyone here using matlab under linux? Anyone noticed the same problem?

Just so you know you aren't the only one, I have the same problem with
fonts with my simulink models in R14 running on a MacOS 10.3.7 system.
Very small difficult to read.
